The following questions all concern our responsibilities as an international company.

Q: Does Auluna Leather Company do anything to secure safe and healty at the factories?
Yes, all of our factories are asked to sign and comply with Auluna Code of Conduct. Every year we strive to inspire, educate and train the owners and employees of factories in health and safety issues. 

Q: How does Auluna Leather Company control that the factories around the world meet Auluna Leather Company requirements?
We have representatives in our production countries checking that our Code of Conduct is being followed and that the factories and their subcontractors carry out the necessary improvements to meet our requirements. Our employees from Denmark frequently visit to check and inspect the factories.

We are also members of the BSCI, which allows a third party to check all issues related to corporate social responsibilities. A number of our factories are being inspected by a third party.

Q: Does Auluna Leather Company do anything to protect the environment?
Yes, Auluna Code of Conduct is also based on the requirements from the EU Flower standard. This includes chemical requirements which protect the environment.

In practice we combine and promote our philosophy – saving money saves resources directly related to energy, packaging and water.

Q: Can Auluna Leather Company document the welfare of animals used for leather products?
It is very difficult to trace the origin of the leather hides. We constantly work hard to find ways to document the origin of the leather hides and how the animals have been treated.

As a general requirement we ask our factories to document that the raw materials originate from animals which have been raised for the food industry. We will not accept leather solely raised for leather production or animal protected by the animal protection act.

Q: Does Auluna Leather Company allows their customers to make audits on their factories?
Yes, we have a close relationship with our factories and will do our upmost to visit the factories with our customers if required. We do also suggest that our customers visit the factories unannounced.
